5 reasons to reduce the vegetable garden

If you are the owner of a large vegetable garden, then you probably thought about reducing the planting area at least once. Most often, summer residents use the entire place to grow crops, which takes a lot of effort, time and money to care for. The following good reasons will prove to you that it is not at all necessary to fill the entire area with beds and flower beds.

The crop does not have to be thrown away

If you are not used to preserving your crops for the winter or you do not have enough space to store fresh vegetables, most of the fruits should be eaten as early as possible. In the summer, such a diet will only benefit and strengthen health. But not all summer residents have time to eat vegetables, as a result of which they begin to rot and have to be thrown away. To avoid this, make beds only for those crops that are really needed, and also calculate the approximate amount of the future harvest. This will save you both energy and money spent on seeds.

The plot will become neat

You must admit that it is much more pleasant to look at a beautiful and well-groomed site than at some beds. But it is very difficult to improve the space in a large country house, so many simply fill the entire territory with plantings. If your work area is compact and functional, then it will be much easier for you to come up with a landscape design and add beautiful decor, a recreation area, etc.

There will be time to rest

Many owners of large lands work tirelessly, because the plants require regular maintenance. Summer residents have to travel to the site several times a week to get rid of weeds, mow the lawn, water all the beds, fill the barrels with water, etc. So that taking care of the harvest is not a burden, reduce the space, leaving only the essentials. So you will save your strength and health, as well as free up time for a pleasant outdoor recreation.

Money costs will decrease

Often, summer residents complain that they have to spend a lot of money on seeds and seedlings, and the harvest is not always rich. Also, for the garden you need to constantly purchase fertilizers, equipment, etc. That said, the expense may not pay off; to save money, cut back a little space to grow vegetables that may not be that important.

No need to fill the space with anything

Some gardeners do not know how to equip the space, and fill the entire area with beds so as not to leave an empty space. To make the whole area useful, divide it into an area for work and rest. In one place, vegetables and flowers will grow, and in another, you can place a gazebo, swing, pool. So the dacha will be associated not only with fatigue, but also with a pleasant pastime.

One of the main rules is that pruning an apple tree in spring should be carried out taking into account its age and characteristics. Competent pruning not only gives the tree a neat appearance, but also affects the yield, taste characteristics of the fruits, and the timing of their ripening. It is necessary to carry out this process until the time when the first buds bloom on the tree. Such an important agrotechnical event as the formation of the crown, ...

Igor Lyadov's technology

The result of observations, studying the experience of foreign colleagues and our own practical work on twenty hundred square meters were a record harvest and the creation of a truly smart vegetable garden. The technology turned out to be extremely simple and, at first glance, similar to the method proposed by the American Jacob Mittlider at the end of the 20th century.

However, unlike the overseas agronomist, who suggested using exclusively mineral additives for plant feeding, Igor Lyadov preferred organic matter and even developed unique author's mixtures based on herbs and traditional fertilizers: manure and poultry droppings.

The common thing for the two currents is the construction of high bed-boxes, filled, among other things, with the remains of plants that have lived their days. Therefore, there are no untidy compost heaps on the site, everything hides in narrow beds and immediately begins to be useful.

Features of narrow beds:

  • The width of the beds is 60 - 100 cm, which is narrower than recommended by Lyadov's American colleague.
  • Passages are comparable in width to ridges, are 60 - 80 cm and can be covered with roofing material, tiles, ordinary sand and sawdust. If grass is sown in the aisles between the ridges, then it is periodically mowed.
  • The location of the beds is strictly from north to south.
  • But the walls of the boxes in Lyadov's garden can be made of any available material: boards, logs, slate, bricks or blocks, depending on the work and capabilities of the gardener.

Why does the walk-behind tractor shoot at the muffler?

Sometimes the operation of the equipment is accompanied by unusual sounds from the muffler. The walk-behind tractor smokes and stalls. To eliminate such a malfunction, it is first necessary to determine what caused it.

Such problems can occur in the following cases:

  1. Excessive engine oil in the fuel. The remaining fuel is drained, the fuel pump and hose system are flushed, new fuel is poured
  2. Incorrectly exposed ignition. It is necessary to check how correctly the gap between the electrodes is set.
  3. The fuel in the engine cylinder does not completely burn out. In this case, it is necessary to disassemble the piston system, wash and dry the cylinder well, adjust the carburetor.

In the above cases, it is not difficult to repair motoblocks on your own. It is important to strictly adhere to the algorithm of actions.

Ways to increase speed on a walk-behind tractor

Many farmers are interested in how to increase the speed of the walk-behind tractor. The most common agricultural technique is the walk-behind tractor. With its help, the performance of work on land and personal plots is greatly simplified. Let's consider how you can increase the speed on this technique. The increased speed will increase the productivity and cross-country ability of the mini-car, which can be used in any season and weather.

How to make a garden for the lazy? How to plant a lazy vegetable garden?

How to create a garden and a vegetable garden for a lazy person with your own hands?

how to care for a lazy vegetable garden?

A vegetable garden for the lazy is an oxymoron! After all, a vegetable garden implies work, and there is no place for laziness, but. really, how to make your work less difficult? How to make it easier to work in the garden?

Here, enterprising gardeners give the following recipes:

First. Digging up the earth is a hell of a job. You don't have to dig up the earth. To do this, do everything so that the earth is loose. In the fall, apply natural fertilizers to the soil, make it rich in humus.

Second. Protect yourself from weeds early. You can use pesticides, but it is better without them, try not to let the weeds sow the seeds, remove them in advance - and year after year your garden will become weed-free. Use mulch.

The third. Use different watering methods "for the lazy", as described above.

Fourth. Divide the garden into sectors, it will be easier and easier for you to process it.

What is a lazy vegetable garden is a vegetable garden in which everything you need grows and does not particularly bother the summer resident. How to sow a garden with everyone you need with minimal time and energy costs. High beds, which we hammer together from boards, will come to the rescue. Such a bed will last for many years, and your garden will look neat. The paths between these beds can be sprinkled with sawdust or tiled.

A video master class on making a tall wooden bed is shown below:

In addition to the beds, I strongly recommend planting perennial shrubs and fruit-bearing trees: apple, pear, blackthorn, cherry, currant, gooseberry, raspberry. We plant all this along the fence.

Do not forget that in a lazy garden the main thing is to plant all the most necessary, we do not need vegetables in abundance, which will not lie for a long time and deteriorate. We plant only what is unpretentious in care and is definitely eaten.

Consider in your garden not only cultivated plants, but also materials for their care, garden tools. A vegetable garden for the lazy is not only a minimum cost, but also a savings in the family budget. We buy only high-quality metal equipment that will last for more than one year. No plastic!

Weeds in the beds take up a lot of time and exhaust the gardener. We mulch the ground with sawdust, old newspapers, wallpaper, or cover it with a special dark film with slots for plants.

It is also worth considering an irrigation system in your absence. A vegetable garden can take care of itself if watering is organized correctly.

The whole point of a garden for the lazy is a minimum of care. But after all, everyone knows that you can't take a fish out of a pond without difficulty, so you first need to make such a garden, and it is very difficult to make it. To look after less and work less, it is necessary that the area of cultivated land be minimal. This is only possible when you have stationary beds and paths between beds do not need maintenance. Ideally - tiled or concreted, as a minimum - covered with conveyor belt, old rugs or any material that prevents grass from growing. The lawn grass between the beds is, of course, beautiful, but it, an infection, climbs into the beds with terrible force and you need to care for the paths as much as for the beds. This is such a garden for the lazy:

You only need to process the beds, and if you do it according to the principle of lovers of organic farming (Kurdyumov, Kizima, etc.), then you don't need to dig the beds, just loosen them. But any experience, including Kizima and Kurdyumov, must be applied with an eye to the nature of your area. What's good for St. Petersburg or Krasnodar may not work for your climate.

For me, a lazy vegetable garden is a vegetable garden that has no weeds and does not need to be watered, and even more so, one does not need to be near it for this purpose.

All these functions are performed by an automatic irrigation system, which can be adjusted to any required mode, and with the help of the number and diameter of the heads, the amount of moisture entering the plants can be adjusted.

Covering the beds with a film helps to fight weeds, and the fruits do not get dirty, especially for strawberries and greens.

Everything is roughly the same as in the photos below, but my option for the lazy is narrow beds with access from both sides so as not to bend too much.

Greens, by the way, are good to grow in large pots - also so as not to bend over.

And I always have this kind of greenery for the lazy and thrifty).

It is good to grow tops of carrots, beets, radishes, radishes, sprigs of lettuce and celery, and cuts of tops or roots.

I also grow green onions, but not from a whole onion, but from the core, I always do not cut the onion to the middle, I leave it whole and in the water, the onion is almost all for food.

Thus, I managed to get lazily seeds of carrots, radishes, onions when I transplanted the sprouted tops-roots into the soil, they started well, grew and gave seeds!

"Lazy" garden with a vegetable garden for workers, lovers of fresh air and landscaping a summer cottage. It requires a lot of work and love for the mother earth, every year, from autumn and spring, dig up the earth, add enriched humus and take care of vegetable and garden crops.

To save land and design a summer cottage, they create multi-tiered beds. As the crops mature and grow in height, plants are planted in tiers, and they will decorate the garden area until late autumn.

The beds with trellises look neat. Since spring, take care of pulling the threads to the legumes and vegetables, making their way up with lashes, they grow environmentally friendly in their summer cottages.

The design of the dacha is a lot of work of farmers and creative people with artistic imagination approach this. They combine work and rest in the design of the site.

If such devices as a dishwasher, a washing machine, a food processor come to the aid of a modern person, then why cannot there be different devices and tricks in the garden in order to minimize and optimize labor?

A vegetable garden for the lazy is more of a definition for more rational work with less cost.

Using tricks, you do not have to weed the beds once again, watering will be carried out by itself, instead of fighting weeds, which must be constantly weeded, they use mulching.

First of all, you should decide which crops to plant. It is better to choose fruitful ones that sprout and grow quickly: beans, corn, pumpkin, potatoes, cucumbers. We also choose those crops that are easy to care for and do not require extra effort - cabbage, sweet and hot peppers, tomatoes. The listed plants can be placed in the ground as seedlings in spring, which saves time and effort. And in order not to waste energy on weeding, loosening the soil, before planting crops, there will be green manure in the ground, for example oats. This will make the earth more fertile, and will help not to loosen it once again.

It is convenient to plant plants every year in the same prepared area, limited by boards or stones, so that there is less weed. In order not to trample the aisles, so as not to dive the soil once again, we will make the plants planted in such a way as to reach the distance between the rows and between the individual planted plants from the path. To help the beds on a small area with row lengths from 40 to 100 cm.

When the culture grows up a little, then you can mulch with straw, sawdust so as not to chop it up, not to water it again.

For a "smart" vegetable garden, it is rational to plant different crops together. Vegetables planted nearby help to save on fertilization and feeding, they "help" each other. This saves energy for grooming, pest control. As they say,

When one crop is harvested (for example, early cucumbers or dill, herbs and flowers), we occupy the garden with other crops. You can plant radishes and strawberries or radishes and garlic together.

For irrigation, it is beneficial to use a drip irrigation system.

A vegetable garden for the lazy is more of a cute joke. Perhaps this is a vegetable garden for the rich, but those who love to walk between the beds and pour radishes from a watering can, pluck them and enjoy the fruits of ... the labor of those who have arranged these amenities. A wonderful vegetable garden, like in the picture from Penzionerochka, requires a lot of preparatory work. Moreover, wheatgrass or loach-perennial weeds still break through the plates. Under the slabs, you need to lay a special black film, then there will be order for several seasons. Unless ants and bears come along. Ants really like to lay their larvae under the slabs. It's warm and cozy there. On my site, this is a scourge: under the paths the anthills are solid.

A vegetable garden for the lazy - perhaps this is a site for those who like to apply new technologies for growing plants that are creative with everything.

For example, I saw how the paths between the beds were laid out with straw cuttings, burlap, pieces of tarpaulin and even advertising newspapers. It is not as expensive as tiles, but effective. Plus, there is no doubt that you can go out into the garden immediately after the rain, but even during it.

I especially liked the paths sprinkled with straw cutting. If a rare weed breaks through, then it is quite possible to weed with a hoe along the straw cutting. The owners also mulched with straw cutting in the aisles of the beds. Even potatoes! The moisture was preserved, and the tubers could be dug in with your hands: he dug and tore off the top potatoes. Let the rest grow.

You can also adopt original watering methods for the lazy. Here they are:

I have already answered similar questions more than once. Yes, she answered, she herself is a landscape designer by profession, so for the last 15 years I have been designing, creating, maintaining such vegetable gardens for wealthy people. Only such a garden is usually called differently - a small-care garden.

In fact, as a specialist, I can say that there is NO vegetable garden for the lazy. This is a myth invented by someone. Any garden, and even more so a vegetable garden, requires at least weekly maintenance. But you can significantly reduce the time spent on this care if you invest a lot of money, use modern materials and technologies.

Here are some techniques to make your work easier.

1) Creation of a modular vegetable garden, that is, paths with a hard surface (tiles, brick, natural stone), beds in modules (curbs).

2) Automatic watering. Pipes are laid underground, and for trees, greenhouses, flower beds - drip (perforated pipes).

3) All flower beds are modular, covered with agrotex, in the slots of which plants are planted, mulching on top - gravel, wood chips.

4) Paved paths in the garden.

5) Each tree has an organized trunk circle, taken into a plastic border, a spunbond is laid, on the surface of which gravel or bark is poured.

6) Low regular mowing of the lawn not with a trimmer, but with a lawn mower.

But all the same, there will be planting, weeding (weeds grow even on top of mulch), pest and disease control, pruning, garter, fertilizing, watering control, etc.

I had a lazy vegetable garden. neither weed .. nor field .. nor fertilize .. nor overlap. everything is automatic. And it is done very simply. I broke all the big greenhouses and repaired one long tunnel meter height greenhouse length 11 meters width 90 cm. arc greenhouse .. put boards on the sidewalls .. approaches to the boy are good .. there is no dirt in the rain. the film was technologically fixed from the wind. It means that the greenhouse, if closed, is very tight. whatever moisture there is from irrigation .. and also coming from the ground (remember the stone in the field, you will turn it over and there is moisture under it) could not get out .. well, like in a plastic bottle. Further in the greenhouse, on the level of the board flanging well, 15 cm height I just put straw and other grass trash on the ground. I stomped it with my feet. I poured it on top of the sand .. well, what would be a thick one .. not a loose shell .. which does not let you water so easily out of the ground .. but the ppstsir is breathing .. but how did not trample underfoot .. he then himself, as it were, moves apart and everything is normal.

Then I plant close to each other all in one tunnel cucumbers tomatoes peppers zucchini (zucchini isolated .. then they are already growing in the open ground .. I removed the film partition there). Everything is planted very tightly without garters .. cucumbers are tall tomatoes everything lies on straw. The planting distance between cucumbers is well 7 cm between tomatoes .. well 7 peppers are the same and taverns are 7 cm as a result of dense planting the number of bushes increases. It is huge. Cucumbers can be 90 .. tomato, maybe 50 peppers, also normal .. and 30 zucchini ..

The landing is tight. however, he dispelled this story that plants need a lot of space. everything goes with a bang. harvest finally .. just have time .. three buckets of cucumbers a day (every day.) Tomato nemeryanno. zucchini. ahrine. Already you will not say any barren flowers .. everything was .. but a huge number of bushes completely kill all barren flowers)))). Tomatoes must be picked out of the green stem mash .. But it’s not difficult .. it would have been)))). More did not open the greenhouse. it is tightly closed. but if I opened it there was just a frantic temperature ... maybe 60 degrees. And then he dispelled the myth .. it turns out if the temperature is crazy .. but everything is in a wet steam room .. then the plants do not care growing with a bang. But there is one little secret here: the fact is that the plants are all pressed against the straw. not in the air. and here we get an interesting effect .. the high temperature, as it were, cannot reach them. there is a breath of freshness from the ground ... and there is no high temperature on the borderlands. Here you go. you come and do not know what to do with such an amount of auto harvest. Of course, you can plant watermelons in the tunnel and grapes melons .. there are 60 degrees .. Africa is resting)))))))) Like all the technology told.
